Account help: login, password, email

Almost every login problem is one of about four things, and nearly all of them are fixable in a couple of minutes. Work through this before you assume something is broken.

Accounts are claimed through the bot. It takes about a minute and costs nothing.

Claim your account

Change the password first

This is the first thing you should do with any account you claim, before you deposit anything. Log in, open account settings, set a new password that only you know.

You receive full email and password access, which is what makes this possible. An account you cannot change the password on is not really yours — that is the difference between an account being handed over and an account being lent to you.

Change the email too

Once the password is yours, point the email at an inbox you control. Password resets flow through email, so whoever controls the email ultimately controls the account. Doing both takes about two minutes and it settles the question permanently.

If the login isn't working

Check for a trailing space. Credentials get copied out of a chat window and a stray space at the end of a pasted password is by far the most common cause of a login that 'doesn't work'.

Check you are on the right site. Phishing clones of large casinos are abundant and they are convincing. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from a search result or a DM.

Clear cookies, or open a private window. A stale session from a previous account causes a surprising number of login failures.

If you are on a VPN, connect before you log in rather than after, and stay on one server location.

Lock the account to yourself first

Do the password and the email before you deposit anything, not after. It takes two minutes and it removes any question about who controls the account. Everything else on this page is easier once that is done.

Common questions

Can I change the password on a claimed account?

Yes, and you should do it immediately. You get full email and password access, so you can change the password, the email address and any other setting directly on Stake.

My login isn't working. What now?

Check for a trailing space in the pasted password, confirm you are on the genuine site and not a clone, and try a private browsing window to rule out a stale session. Those three cover nearly every case.
